About Us //

In early 1981, Antigua was gripped with Independence fever. A shared feeling of excitement, optimism, and endless possibilities as the young nation prepared for self-rule. Chantale and Yves, expatriates from France, also felt the excitement and decided to establish the first authentic French restaurant in the young nation.

Since 1981

History

Over four decades have passed since our doors first opened; and like the nation, Le Bistro has remained steadfast in the pursuit of excellence as recommended by Gourmet Magazine and Caribbean Journal. We delight in sharing with our loyal guests, the unique experience of French cuisine in a distinct and luxurious, yet relaxing Caribbean atmosphere.

Our Promise to you is that you’ll experience a real sense of occasion and a heartfelt welcome with every visit. Upon entering the restaurant, be prepared to enjoy the elegant, tropical surrounding of the dining room and bar which are both irresistibly alluring and beautifully romantic.

Relax and enjoy a seamless dinner, complete with a supremely polished and personalized service from our staff. It will be hard to choose from the medley of outstanding cuisine but do not hesitate to call one of our servers to guide you and ensure that your evening is filled with French chic and Caribbean zest.

Learn about

The Chef

Chef Patrick hails from Vendée, the heart of France’s finest gastronomic regions. From a young age, he was exposed to the culinary arts, but it was through his travels he mastered the craft of blending food from different cultures. This mastery of the skill of blending brought him to some of the finest restaurants, including: The Restaurant Le Rive Bleu, Golf Hotel Montreux and Hotel Conte Vevey in Switzerland, The Cable Beach Wyndham Hotel in the Bahamas, The Reading Room in New York, and The French Quarter and The Hodges Bay Club in Antigua. In 1996, Chef Patrick acquired Le Bistro and had been widely credited with taking the culinary offerings of the restaurant to new heights. He has intrigued and captivated the sense of guest with his sensory delight for over twenty years. It came as no surprise when Chef Patrick was featured on the pages of “Who’s Who of Chefs’ and on Discovery Channel’s Great of the World.’ Those who know him personally marvels at his personality and capacity for laughter.

Patrick wishes you Bon Appetit!
